Samsung Introduces Gear Fit 2 With Inbuilt Music
Recently Samsung launched its Gear Fit2 fitness band, which will be available across major stores in America.The Gear Fit2 is priced at US$180. The Gear Fit2 has a built-in GPS and a heart rate monitor. It offers access to music as it has a standalone music player and also supports Bluetooth.
“With the Gear Fit2 and IconX, Samsung’s eliminating the need to have a separate fitness tracker and iPod,” noted Ramon Llamas, a research manager at IDC.
The Gear Fit2 you do not need to manually activate the tracking feature as it has an Auto Activity tracking feature apart from the GPS and heart rate monitor. Fitness data can be transferred to Samsung’s Health and other fitness applications. Notifications for Calls, SMS, Email, Applications and scheduling are some other features included in the Gear Fit2.
The Gear Fit2 comes with a 1.5-inch 216 x 432 pixel Super Amoled curved display with a color touchscreen, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. It runs on Samsung’s Tizen OS and is compatible with Android 4.4. powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor.
Overall it is priced decently for a device with a heart rate monitor, GPS and music storage. Though it’s difficult to understand why iOS compatibility is not offered.
