How To Create Bank E-Wallet

Many banks are offering e-wallet facilities, it allows customers to make payments simply tapping on their mobile phones. You can easily make payments to various service providers and also transfer money to your contacts using e-wallets. It is a safe and convenient mode of payment.

Where to Begin

You need to download e-wallet app from Google Play for android device and App Store for iOS based devices. Each bank offers it own e-wallet app.

3Getting Started

Once you have downloaded the desired banks e-wallet app on the phone open it.  On accessing the app it will ask for some basic details like name, email address, mobile number and date of birth which you have to enter. Some banks prompt users to create a User ID and password for accessing the application while others allow users to proceed with the internet banking UserID and password.

Set a PIN

The user is prompted to set a numeric PIN which will conclude the registration process. After the PIN is set you will  receive a one-time verification code on the registered mobile number, which is entered by the user to complete the registration process.


Link cards

ON completion of the registration process you can link your debit and credit cards to the e-wallet by entering the required details or can simply scan the card with your mobile phone. You can also directly deposit cash to your e-wallet from your existing online banking account.

5Make payments

Once the cash from the cards or online bank account is deposited in the e-wallet, you can utilise it to make payments to third parties by accessing the e-wallet application and entering your PIN.

7Points to note

The e-wallet service is free of cost. Some banks offer e-wallet service only to existing account holders while few other banks also allow non-account holders.  Users should take care about the mobile number they register for using the e-wallet service is always in regular use. Apart from this in case the number is changed, they should make the desired changes else the e-wallet application won’t work
