5 Best Features Of The LG V20
The LG V20 was officially launched on Wednesday at a spectacular event in San Francisco. It is the first new Android 7.0 phone offered by LG. Earlier last year LG introduced US only V10 which had its own share of hits and misses. After building on the success of V10 and ditching the less popular features LG now plans to release the phone in more markets in the coming weeks.
These are our five favorite LG V20 features.
1. Second screen:
The V20’s second screen is more useful than a full-screen always-on display as it less intrusive, less power-hungry, more customizable. You have a 24 character signature support (up from 14 on the V10) with a marquee effect for longer texts
on the LG V20. The brightness of the secondary screen’s brightness has also been enhanced significantly, from 35 nits on the V10 to 68 nits on the V20, which makes reading better in bright daylight. The V20 text and notifications are now larger and have higher contrast.
The V20 was rumoured to be a modular phone thanks to the button at the side. Though the phone is certainly not modular as we all were assuming. The side button is simply a catch mechanism for the replaceable battery cover which enhances battery life by 20% and an access to the microSD card slot.
LG has been known for its great User Interface (UI). Earlier Samsung created huge waves with its Note 7 and made it a skin to envy. The implementation of Nougat on the V20 is even more impressive than the fact it already has it.
The Quick Settings and the Settings menu are crisp and clean. The notifications are good and switching between the apps is quick. The split-screen mode feels just right. It has a straight up color scheme which looks great though the icons still suck.
The LG v20 is the smartphone for all Hi FI enthusiasts. The V10 has already been popular for its sound quality last year, it has been stepped up considerably by V20. The LG V20 supports lossless audio while video recording (24 bit, 48 kHz) as well as HD recording for audio alone (24 bit, 192 kHz). The Quad DAC helps in reducing harmonic distortion by more than half and almost doubling the dynamic range of competitor’s phones. The Asia region will be able to enjoy the Bang & Olufsen audio tuning experience, whereas other regions can is can enjoy sound tuned by LG. LG V20 will truly give joy to everyone who loves audio.5. Military-grade shock absorber:
No matter how careful we are with our smartphone we always happen to drop it once in awhile. Insurances against drops can go a long way. At times the protective cases are too chunky for everyone’s liking.
The V20 comes with MIL-STD-810G impact resistance, based around an advanced silicon polycarbonate and aircraft-grade aluminum. The phone is manufactured to make it so tough that it does not require a bumper case.Drop test conducted proved that it was pretty difficult to crack the phone to pieces, the glass was the only thing shattered but still the phone worked fine. There nothing much LG can do to strengthen the gorilla glass apart from that the body is sturdy enough to take all the beating.

The build quality is spot on and well-implemented and with Nougat’s Doze Mode battery life shouldn’t be a problem. The camera and audio performance is top class, the software is excellent and it is lighter and smaller than V10.
