BSNL To Set Up 40,000 WiFi Hotspots Allover India
BSNL has good news for its subscribers and there have been different reports in media. Chairman and managing director Anupam Shrivastava announced that the operator will be setting up the WiFi 40,000 hotspots. This will be achieved over the period of the next two years across the country as reported by the Economic Times.
Thought there was a different report in the Business Standards which states “ “The company will set up about 20,000 WiFi hotspots in these nine states, which include Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, covering over 600 million people.”
In yet another report on Trak.in reported that “the service will be free for the first 15 minutes of use, following payment options for the next amount of time clocked on the internet. Plans start at Rs. 30 for half an hour to Rs 200 for a month. BSNL promises the speed to be up to 20MBPS”.
The situation with BSNL is that it has recently launched 5G WiFi Hotspots in nine locations in Tirupati and last year 5G WiFi Hotspot services were launched in Visakhapatnam.
