Micromax Dual 5 Launched for Rs 25000

Micromax Dual 5Micromax has already made a name in the budget smartphone market in India.
Micromax will be introducing the Dual series to give competition to the devices from Samsung and Apple and also the other Chinese players in the space like Oppo, Vivo and One Plus.

Rahul Sharma co-founder of Micromax Informatics at the launch of the company first premium smartphone on Wednesday told media about the company’s plans to bring low-cost 4G VoLTE phone apart from the Dual series. The launch of the Dual series in the premium segment will allow Micromax to its position among the top five smartphone makers which it has lost in the last few quarters to its Chinese rivals in the market led by Samsung. He said “We will get back market share that we have lost, within two-quarters we will be back (in top rankings),”
The company has performed brilliantly in the sub-Rs 10,000 price segment so far and expects to boost revenue with its entry in the higher price segment given the average selling price for the company, which stands at Rs 5,740, could rise by a fifth. Revenue expectations for the year to March 31 are under Rs 10,000 crore.

Micromax has plans to launch four to five devices in the Dual series in the next few months. Apart from this new models are also expected in Rs 10,000, Rs 15000, Rs20000 and Rs 30000 upwards category, a few of these will also be sporting dual cameras.

Mr Sharma said the company’s move into the high end is due, to the change in consumer patterns in the market. Giving example he said the increase in sales of 25000 price segment from 100000 units a month to 600000 a month, which indicate more people are upgrading to high-end phones.

Micromax’s announcement comes just hours before the release of Samsung’s global launch of its Galaxy 8 in New York. The S8 will be crucial for Samsung especially after its Note 7 failure last year and was forced to recall the flagship due to faulty battery issues.Micromax Dual 5_01Micromax as far as the budget smartphone market goes will focus on selling 5-6 million units of the Bharat 1 4G VoLTE feature phone and Bharat 2 VoLTE smartphones, by September adding up to the company’s market share.

The Dual 5 will be launched on Wednesday and priced at Rs 24,999/- will be available online on Flipkart and offline from April 10. The Dual 5 comes with a replacement warranty of the screen, besides pickup and drop of the device.
