Transparent SkyDeck For Aeroplane Passengers
Windspeed Technologies a premier aerospace engineering services company offering full spectrum engineering services. They have designed a bubble-shaped viewing platform for the top of a commercial aircraft (SkyDeck). They have projected it as an alternative to other on flight entertainment like movies.
“The aim was to create the next exciting experiential in-flight entertainment for VIP aircraft owners and the airline industry,” said Windspeed Technologies.
SkyDeck’s aerodynamic design ensures it does not interfere with the aeroplane’s performance. Also, it is positioned towards the back of the vehicle ensuring no additional fuel consumption.
Airline companies can earn revenue by using a pay-per-use module for its passengers. The passengers can access the SkyDeck using staircase or elevator inside the aeroplane, and would be able to see out the top of the cabin through an oval-shaped canopy that projects from the fuselage. The SkyDeck can rotate 360° which gives the passengers a better viewing experience.
“Current in-flight entertainment offerings have not changed much over the decades,” said Windspeed Technologies. “We wanted to come up with a product that would provide a higher level of entertainment to reduce the boredom of long flights.”
They stated that the SkyDeck covering would be constructed from high-strength glass, and coated in an anti-condensation film. This will ensure the passenger from UV Rays and a possible bird hit accident.
The SkyDeck can be added on the existing aeroplanes and can be customized for smaller private jets. The smaller jets can opt for a single seat option while the larger aircraft can have two passenger seats.
